The project involves the refurbishment and extension to the former Hand and Flower public house, to form five new apartments with retail use at ground floor and basement level. A new three storey concrete framed rear extension forms two flats, one a duplex with a glazed “penthouse” at roof level.

The existing building was reconfigured internally, and a new floor added within a new mansard roof. The new extension is visually separated by a full height glazing signifying the folded flat steel and oak stair behind. Slim Danish bricks are used for the main facade and the rear elevation is sculpted in stock brick, maintaining daylight to neighbouring properties and roof terraces for the flats.
