Dublin City Morgue & Pathology Labs

This project involves the construction of a new city mortuary and offices for the State Pathologist forming a Medico-Legal Centre. Working in association with McCullough Mulvin Architects (Dublin), the new facility will provide state of the art facilities for the investigation and analysis of suspicious deaths. The accommodation includes two post mortem suites, viewing areas, laboratories and staff offices.

Located on the site of an historic demesne, the new building features a roach bed Portland stone cladding in response to its relationship with the neaby National Monument, The Casino Marino. A sunken garden provides a contemplative space for visitors and staff.

Work unfortunately halted during construction and the building is now a in a semi ruinous state.
